L&T Build India Scholarship M.Tech - Construction Technology & Management at IIT (Delhi, Madras)|

L&T will sponsor fresh, deserving engineering graduates interested in pursuing M.Tech in Construction Technology in IIT (Delhi, Madras). The 24-Month course will begin in July 2013

Qualification: Only first-class graduates with minimum aggregate / average of 65% in Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering who will pass out in 2013 from a recognised Indian University Institute.

Age: Not more then 23 years as on 01-07-2013
Min. Heigh: 160 cm
Minimum Wt.: 50 Kg.

Vision: If wearing glasses, the power should be less than +_5.0 dioptres.

Selection Process: Involve written tests / interview conduction by IIT (Delhi / Madras) in coordination with L&T Construction. Final selection will be subject to medical fitness.

Scholarship : For the 24-month course, L&T will pay candidates a stipend of Rs. 9000/- per month and also pay sponsorships to IITs.



Absorption: Those who successfully completes the course will be considered for absorption in regular employment in accordance with term the terms and conditions of the company.

Overview
The J.N. Tata Endowment offers loan scholarships only. The loan amount (ranging between ` 60,000 and ` 4,00,000) awarded to each scholar is determined by the norms laid down for the purpose and does not cover the full cost of studies. All applicants do not necessarily qualify for the maximum amount. Select scholars may also qualify for a gift scholarship from the Jamsetji Tata Trust and a Travel Grant from the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, based on the sole discretion of the Trustees of the concerned Trusts. A gift scholarship can amount to a maximum of ` 3,80,000.
The Scholarship Programme
The uniqueness of the J.N. Tata Endowment Scholarship Programme lies in its inherent flexibility and transparency. The programme is open to:
  • All Indian nationals irrespective of caste, creed, community, socioeconomic background, gender and geographical location.
  • All age groups, up to 45 years, covering the entire spectrum of scholars – from fresh graduates to mid-career professionals and academics with several years of work experience.
  • Scholars pursuing higher education in all areas and fields of study, with newly emerging fields of relevance to the country.
  • Scholars pursuing higher studies irrespective of the course duration and the selected course being either a short-term training programme, or a full-fledged Masters or Doctoral programme.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Only Indian nationals are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Graduates from a recognised Indian University, with a consistently good academic record.
  • Students in the final year of a degree course and those awaiting final-year results.
  • Academicians and other mid-career professionals, up to the age of 45 years, with experience in their fields, who wish to go abroad for further specialised training.
Application Procedure
Applications for the loan scholarships are invited by the Endowment once a year, through advertisements in leading Indian newspapers on the first Saturday of December, for the following academic year.
  • The application is to be made on a prescribed form available at the Endowment’s administrative office from the first week of December till the specified dates.
  • The prescribed form can be obtained either personally, on payment of an application fee of ` 100 by cash, or by sending a request by a ‘money order’ or ‘demand draft’ for the amount, giving the applicant's full name and address in the ‘Space for Communication’.
  • Completed application forms, along with all the duly-certified enclosures, should reach the Endowment's office on or before the dates specified for the year for which the scholarship is sought.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called in for a mandatory personal interview that is conducted by relevant subject experts in Mumbai, between the months of March and June.
Submission Criteria
  • The Endowment awards a one-time loan scholarship; applications for which are to be made only at the beginning of the course.
  • Candidates applying for the scholarship should already have applied for admission to the university they plan to join.
  • Students awaiting admission can also apply for the scholarship, the final award of which is subject to their securing admission and obtaining the relevant visa.
  • If a separate selection round is held for the Spring semester, applications for the same are accepted in the month of October of the previous year.

Overview
The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust accepts applications for travel grants from candidates who are travelling abroad for advanced training in specialised areas and to participate in workshops. Students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies abroad in the field of natural sciences and humanities are also welcome to apply.
Application Procedure
The candidate is required to submit a detailed application along with the following documents:
1. Curriculum Vitae, duly signed in the original
2. An attested copy of the Letter of Invitation/Offer which is duly signed by the organisers/institution
3. Attested copy of the letter stating the aid/concession given by the organisers/institution
4. A statement of the purpose of travel
5. The estimated cost of travel, including details of airfare, visa charges, insurance, lodging and boarding, etc.
6. One page ‘Statement of Purpose’ duly signed in original
7. A recommendation letter from the head of the organisation/institution where the candidate is presently working/studying
8. Details of the assistance applied for and received from other organisations
9. Proof of admission for those proceeding for postgraduate studies abroad 
Submission Dates
  • Applications for travel grants for the purpose of studies abroad should reach the Trusts’ office between the months of April and July for Fall admissions and between November and December for Spring admissions.
  • Applications for other categories of travel grant support may be submitted throughout the year. 
  • Applications for the categories excluding postgraduate studies abroad, should reach the Trusts' office at least two months prior to the date of departure. Grants will be released only if all the necessary documents are submitted prior to the date of departure.

Overview
The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and J.R.D. Tata Trust offer scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in India according to the defined selection criteria for the year.
Application Procedure
Online applications are invited via the Trusts’ website. Scholarship applications are open for a brief period in September/ October each year. Interested students are requested to visit the website for more information on the guidelines and criteria.
Please Note: Grant-making is solely at the discretion of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the Allied Trusts. All grants and scholarships are given, subject to the eligibility criteria being met and the availability of funding.  

Education Means Based Grants


Overview
The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust extends financial assistance by way of grants for support towards the cost of their studies in Mumbai, based on certain socioeconomic criteria.
Applicants are advised to apply either for a scholarship or a means based grant. Dual applications will be regretted.
Application Procedure
Candidates may apply for an Education Means Grant by submitting a detailed application, along with attested photocopies of the following documents:
1. Mark sheet(s) relevant to the course
2. Income proof of all earning members of the family
3. Fee receipt(s) of the current year
4.Identity card of the current year
5. Copy of the PAN card (self and parents)
Submission Dates
Applications should reach the Trusts’ office by 31st December latest each year. After the student has paid the current year’s fees, s/he is eligible to apply.

The Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme
aims at providing facilities to outstanding young children to develop their talents in various artistic fields. Children in the age group of 10 to 14 years studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families practicing traditional art forms are eligible for the scholarship.
In 1982, the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) took over the Cultural Talent Search Scholarship Scheme from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India in which initially 100 talented students in the field of arts and crafts were identified from all parts of the country and provided with scholarship. Considering the vastness of this country and the talent that is available, the scholarship was increased from 100 to 300 each year from 1984.

The scholarship awarded under the Scheme is initially for two years and is renewable after every two years till the completion of the first University degree stage of education or up to the age of 20 years whichever is earlier subject to the awardees maintaining good progresS


BASIS OF SELECTION :-


Children in the age group of 10-14 years studying either in recognized schools or belonging to families practicing traditional, performing and other arts are chosen for the scholarships.

The outstanding children in various cultural fields such as traditional forms of music, dance, drama as well as painting, sculpture and crafts are selected for the award of scholarships. Special emphasis is given to rare art forms, which are in the process of becoming extinct.

Scholarship: 520 scholarships are awarded every year, of which 20 are being reserved for Specially Challenged children


The value of Scholarship is Rs 3600/- (Rs three thousand six hundred) per year and actual tuition fee paid for the specialized training is also reimbursed up to Rs 9000/- (Rs nine thousand) per year

Age: Children whose date of birth is in between 01st July, 1999 and 30th June, 2003 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply for the award of scholarships for the year 2013-14
