STAFF SELECTION COMMISSION  NOTICE   Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2)   Examination, 2012

  Date of Examination: 21.10.2012  &                                                                           28.10.2012
Commission will conduct an All India Open Examination 21/10/2012 and 28/10/2012 for recruitment to the following posts for Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Lower Division Clerk (LDC):  Data Entry Operator (DEO) / Lower Division Clerk (LDC) : 
 No. of posts will be determined in due course, 
Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.2400/- for DEO and Rs.1900/- for LDC, Age : 18-27 years as on 01/08/2012, 
 Qualification : 12th Standard Pass or equivalent. Fee: Rs. 100/- (No fee for SC/ST/PH/Women and Ex-Serviceman) to be deposited in SBI cash by challan or by Online in SBI.
  How to Apply : Last date for filling of the offline application is 10/08/2012 (5PM), last date is 17/08/2012 for candidates from far-flung areas.  Send your Applications to any Regional Director of SSC where you want to have your examination centre.  OR  You can also Apply in  Online from at SSC website at http://www.ssconline.nic.in/ or at http://www.sscregistration.sifyitest.com  up to 08/08/2012 for Part-I registration and up to 10/08/2012 for Part-II Registration.


Scheme of Examination : 
The examination will consist of a written examination and skill test for the post of Data Entry Operator and Typing Test for the post of Lower Division Clerk on Computer.  Scheme of Examination :  1. General  Intelligence   (50 questions)  – 50 Marks  2. English Language (Basic Knowledge) ( 50 questions ) – 50 Marks  3. Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) (50 questions) – 50 Marks  4. General Awareness (50 questions)  – 50 Marks 
 NOTE :  The Paper will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only.  The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-I, III & IV. Other Regional languages may also be included subject to approval from the Department of Personnel & Training. 
 VERY IMPORTANT : There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.  Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.  Skill Test for Data Entry Operators : Only those candidates who qualify in the written part of examination and secure at least  minimum qualifying marks as may be fixed by the Commission in their discretion, will be eligible to take the Skill Test.  Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer. 
 The “Data Entry Speed” Skill Test would be of qualifying nature. Candidates allowed to take this test, will have to qualify the test at the prescribed speed on Computer, to be provided by the Commission or the agency authorized by the Commission to conduct such skill test at the Centre/venue so notified. 
 Typing Test for LDCs : Typing Test will be conducted for those candidates who qualify in the Written Examination. Such Typing Test will be conducted in English or Hindi and candidates while applying  for the Examination, will have to indicate his/her choice/option for Skill Test Medium in the Application Form. The choice of language in the application will be final and no change will be allowed.  
Examination Fee : Rs.100/- (NO Fee for SC/ST/PH/Ex-servicemen)
