The advertisement bearing No 04/2009, dated 23.11.2009 is hereby cancelled due to creation of Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur) after bifurcation of Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, Pusa (Samastipur) Vide O. O. No. 6869 dt.07.12.2010. A fresh notification for filling up the following posts under jurisdiction of Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, Pusa (Samastipur) is hereby made.
The application form can be downloaded from the University Website www.pusavarsity.org.in. The duly filled application form along with relevant documents including copies of academic qualifications and experience etc. and prescribed non- refundable fee in the form of A/C payee Demand Draft for Rs 450/- (Rupees four hundred fifty ) only for Unreserved / BC/EBC/RCF and Rs 150/- (Rupees one hundred fifty) only for SC/ST candidates drawn in favour of Comptroller, Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, Pusa (Samastipur) and payable at Punjab National Bank, R.A.U., Pusa (Code PUNB0451200), must be submitted by registered or speed post so as to reach to the Recruitment Officer, Rajendra Agricultural University, Bihar, Pusa (Samastipur)-848125 on or before 12.11.2012 up to 5.00 P.M. positively. No application will be received after this date. A separate application with requisite fee is essential for each post. In-service candidates must submit their application through proper channel. However, they can submit advance copy of application with requisite fee within stipulated time. Advance copy may also be submitted by email to rectt.rau@gmail.com before the closing date along with the scanned copy of the Demand Draft. The candidates are also instructed to mention the advertisement no. and name of the post applied for, on the top of envelope.
1. Dean of Agriculture : (One Post-Unreserved) Pay Band – Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/-
Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post-graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or research of which five years should have been in a position of responsibility. Desirable (iii) Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing an Agricultural College preferably offering under-graduate and post-graduate education.
2. Director of Resident Instruction-cum-Dean (PGS) : (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Band – Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/-
Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture, Veterinary or Animal Husbandry (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent Post-graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching).

(ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or research of which five years should have been in a position of responsibility. Desirable (iii) Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievement in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing an Agricultural and Animal Husbandry College preferably offering under-graduate and postgraduate education.
3. Director of Research : (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Band – Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agriculture, Veterinary or Animal Husbandry (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and responsible leaderships in the relevant field). (ii) Ten years experience in teaching and/or research work as evidenced by published work in standard research journals of which at least five years experience should have been in a position of an institution in which research holds an important place. (iii) Evidence of leadership, outstanding achievements in research and organizing research.
4. Director of Extension Education (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Band - Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification: (i) Bachelors Degree in Agriculture/Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry Science. (ii) Doctorate in Extension (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post-graduate qualification in case of candidate with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research or extension). (iii) Ten years experience of teaching/research or extension of which five years should have been in a position of responsibility. Desirable (iv) Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in extension and organizing extension.
5. Director. Sugarcane Research Institute (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Band-Rs.37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in Agronomy/Soil Science/Plant Breeding/Plant Physiology/Entomology/Plant Pathology/Nematology (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post-graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research or extension). (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or research/Extension in the subject concerned out of which half of the period must be in the capacity of Senior Scientist or equivalent in sugarcane research. (iii) Evidence of leadership, outstanding activities in research & organizing sugarcane research.
6. Dean of Home Science : (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Band – Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Home Science (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post-graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or research of which five years should have been in a position of responsibility. Desirable (iii) Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing a Home Science College preferably offering under-graduate and post-graduate education.

Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agricultural Engineering (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post-graduate qualification in the case of candidates

8. Dean of Basic Sciences & Humanities : (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Band-Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification: (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Basic Science and Humanities (relaxable to high second class M.Sc. degree or equivalent post graduate qualification in the case of candidates with exceptionally distinguished record of productive research and teaching). (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or research of which five years should have been in a position of responsibility. Desirable (iii) Evidence of leadership and outstanding achievements in teaching and organizing teaching. (iv) Experience in managing a College of Basic Science and Humanities preferably offering under-graduate and post-graduate education.
9. Director of Planning (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Scale – Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification : (i) Doctorate degree in any branch of Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science / Basic Science / Agricultural Engineering / Home Science. (ii) Ten years experience of teaching and/or/research/extension education in any of the above subject out of which five years must be in the capacity of Associate Professor/Senior Scientist or equivalent. Preference will be given to those candidates who have Ph.D. degree in Agriculture Economics/Economics and have experience of planning, monitoring, evaluation work and report preparation in any Agricultural University/Govt./Semi Govt. organization.
10. Director of Students' Welfare : (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Scale – Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification: (i) Masters' degree in any branch of Agriculture Science/Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science/Basic Science & Education. If a suitable person with Ph.D. qualification in concerned subject is available, he will be preferred. (ii) Ten years experience of teaching in a college of Agriculture/Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science/Basic Science or Education in the capacity of a College Professor/Associate Professor. (iii) Adequate experience of organizing sports, games, dramas and other students' welfare activities. Desirable (iv) Evidence of leadership and capacity in organizing teaching and students' activities.
11. Registrar : (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Scale – Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification : (i) Masters' degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the U.G.C. seven point scale (ii) At least fifteen years of experience as Assistant Prof. (Senior Scale)/Assistant Professor with eight years in Associate Professor grade along with experience in educational administration. Or Comparable experience in research establishment and /or other institutions of higher education. Or Fifteen years of administrative experience of which eight years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post. Ph.D. as a desirable qualification.
12. University Librarian : (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Scale – Rs. 37400-67000/- + AGP 10000/-
Essential Qualification (i) Masters' degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and consistently good academic record. (ii) At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a University Library or eighteen years’ experience as a College Librarian. (iii) Evidence of innovative library

service and organization of published work. Desirable- M. Phil/Ph.D. degree in Library Science/Information Science/documentation/ archives/and manuscript keeping. 13. Comptroller : (One Post-Unreserved), Pay Scale – Rs. 37400-67000/- + GP 10000/- Essential Qualification- (i) B.Com or equivalent degree. (ii) Experience as a Chartered Accountant or Cost and works Accounts or should have passed Subordinate Accounts Service Examination of any State/ Central Government or an equivalent or higher examination and have had experience of service in Government or quasi Govt. for a minimum of ten years. 14. Director,Works & Plant : (One post-Unreserved), Pay Scale- Rs.37400-67000/- GP 10000/- Essential Qualiciation: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering & Technology with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade. Essential Qualification: (i) Degree in Medical Science of a recognized university. (ii) Experience as a registered medical practitioner for a period not less than five years. Associate Dean/ Principal, College of Agriculture: (One Post- Unreserved) Pay Scale- Rs. 37400-67000/- +AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification: A Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks in any branch of Agriculture or its equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letters grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F (ii) Ph.D. or equivalent qualification. Associate Dean/ Principal, College of Fisheries : (One Post- Unreserved) Pay Scale- Rs. 37400-67000/- +AGP 10000/- Essential Qualification : A Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks in any branch of Fisheries or its equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letters grades O,A,B,C,D,E & F (ii) Ph.D. or equivalent qualification. (iii) Total experience of 15 years of teaching/research in University/ Colleges and other institutions of higher education. 18. Programme Coordinator (KVKs) : Eleven Posts (UR-06, SC-02 (one lien vacancy), EBC-02, BC-01) Pay Band – Rs. 15600-39100 + RGP 8000/- Essential qualification : (i) Doctoral degree in relevant field of Agriculture/ Horticulture/Animal Science/ Fisheries including relevant basic sciences with 4 years experience as Scientist/ Lecturer/ Extension Specialist or in a n equivalent position in the pay scale of Rs.8000-13,500/- having made contribution to research/ teaching/ extension education as evidenced by published work/innovations. OR Doctoral degree in relevant field of Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Animal Sciences/ Fisheries including relevant basic sciences with 4 years experience of high quality post-doctoral research in an institution of repute evidenced by publications in high impact/ renowned journals. Desirable – Specialization in implementing extension education progamme. (ii) It has further been clarified by the Council vide letter F.No.1-5/2009-AE-I dated 26.3.2010 that Subject Matter Specialist recruited in a KVK in the disciplines e.g. Agricultural Extension, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Livestock Production, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Agroforestry, Soil Science, Plant Protection & Home Science and related subjects in a KVK are also eligible for the post of Programme Coordinator subject to the condition that they fulfill all other requisites including 4 years experience in appropriate capacity. NOTE: (1) The candidates who applied for above mentioned posts against Advertisement No. 04/2009 dt. 23.11.2009 need not apply again. However, if they want to add some additional information /documents or update their application, they can send the same to the undersigned mentioning their earlier application no. and other details within stipulated time through registered/speed post. (2) The University reserves the right to withdraw any post, change the designation and pay scale and also not to fill up any post, even after making selection. (3) The Board of Management has approved that the appointment on the posts of Deans, Directors and Director, SRI, Pusa shall be made tenurial for a period of five years which has been sent to the Chancellor's Secretariat for obtaining assent of the Hon'ble Chancellor. It may be noted that appointment on these posts shall be treated as tenurial appointment if and as and when assented by the Hon'ble Chancellor.
