IISERs
To promote high quality scientific research and training, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD),Government of India has set up five Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs)at Bhopal,
Kolkata, Mohali, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.
BS-MS Dual Degree Programme
It is a five year dual degree programme for bright and motivated students of science who have completedclass XII. It integrates classroom learning with research and provides ample scope for multidisciplinary
interactions.
Admission to BS-MS Dual Degree Programme 2013
Following channels are available for admission to the Five Year BS-MS Dual Degree programme beginningAugust 2013.
• Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY): See http://www.kvpy.org.in
• Joint Entrance Exam 2013: See http://www.jeemain-edu.in and http://jee.iitd.ac.in/jee2013.php
• State and Central Boards: Those, who on the basis of their aggregate scores in class XII, are eligible for
INSPIRE scholarship (http://www.inspire-dst.gov.in)by Department of Science and Technology (DST) may be
considered for admission after clearing anaptitude test.
