On the second day of
counselling held at five centres in
the city, hundreds of successful
candidates of Uttar Pradesh State
Entrance Exam (UP-SEE) 2011 got
their documents verified.
This is the first phase of
counselling for admitting
students to various colleges
affiliated to the Gautam Buddh
Technical University and
Mahamaya Technical University.
At Harcourt Butler Technological
Institute, 226 students appeared
for document verification.
Similarly, 245 students turned up
at Pranveer Singh Institute of
Technology, 238 at the Kanpur
Institute of Technology, 244 at
Maharana Pratap Engineering
College and 169 students got
their documents verified at
Naraina Institute.
It is important to mention here
that this year, the counselling is
being done in two parts. The first
round of counselling will
continue till June 28. In the
second phase of counselling, the
students will be allotted colleges
affiliated to the two universities.
It is also important to mention
here that this time, CCTV cameras
have been installed at counselling
centres to record the
proceedings. Also, bio-metric
thumb impressions of students
are being taken to establish their
identity and to maintain the
same profile in records
